Meet the Brave but Overlooked Women of Color Who Fought for the Vote

There are less than 100 days until the 2020 Election. There are many who fought for the right to vote but did you know about the often overlooked women of color involved in the women’s suffrage movement?

Mabel Ping-Hua Lee was one of them. She rode horseback campaigning for women’s suffrage in NY. As a member of the Women’s Political Equality League, she led Chinese and Chinese American women in a parade down 5th avenue in 1917 (the same year that women got the right to vote in NY.
